The PCPCS Vision
The mission of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools is to provide information and guidance to persons wishing to start a charter public school; to act in an advisory capacity to the Pennsylvania State Department of Education in matters concerning charter public schools; to act as a monitor to charter public school legislation; and, to focus and promote efforts to strengthen charter public school legislation.
To support our mission, the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools will:
- Promote the charter public school movement in Pennsylvania.
- Foster communications among its members.
- Advocate and support quality charter public schools and their advancement.
- Promote mutual assistance among member charter public schools.
- Support and assist its members in the development of their professional managerial skills and in the advancement of charter public schools.
- Increase understanding of charter public schools in the community.
- Represent the interests of its members and to take any other action which is within the purpose of the Association.
- Gather data relative to the development of charter public schools throughout the state and the nation.
- Establish working relationships with other professional organizations and government agencies.
