Sen. Piccola Tours the Pocono Mountain Charter School

Senate Education Chairman Jeffrey Piccola recently toured the Pocono Mountain Charter School as he prepares for the upcoming charter school law revision hearings. Senator Piccola said, "The Pocono Mountain Charter School has excellent programs and staff, and its students are making AYP. Progress being made at the Pocono Mountain Charter School is what we are looking for in Harrisburg."
The Pocono Mountain Charter School has made significant academic achievements to include making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) five out of six school years. It has been named a "High Performance School" by the Obama Administration, earned three Keystone Education Awards, was recently awarded the highest possible Title I Academic Achievement Award, and holds the honor of being named as a National Title I Distinguished School.
