Job Description:
The Folk Arts-Cultural Treasures Charter School (FACTS) is a K-8 charter school located in the Chinatown area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a Special Education Supervisor. The Special Education Supervisor is responsible for the oversight, management, administration, and evaluation of the special education program. This 10-month full-time position reports directly to the Principal/CEO and supervises a team of teachers, tutors, and contracted professionals within our Special Education program. A supervisory credential or readiness to enroll in a program leading to certification is required. Major categories of responsibility include:
* Administration
* Data, Reporting and Compliance
* Curriculum and Instruction
* Personnel Management and Development
* Community Relations
Additional qualities desired include excellent planning and organizational skills, empathy for and understanding of students and parents; flexibility, sense of humor, and a genuine desire to work collegially and cooperatively with colleagues.

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
* Must have a minimum of 5 years of direct special education experience, preferably in an elementary setting.
* Must have Pennsylvania Special Education Certification. Supervisor of Special Education certification preferred.
* Must have current, relevant coursework in Special Education law, due process, and IDEA.
* Must have strong written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to convey information about Special Education law, practices, and guidelines.
* Must have a strong commitment to social justice and family empowerment.
* Experience with ESL students is a plus.
